About Us

Prairie State Cat Club is a TICA cat club in the Great Lakes region. TICA is The International Cat Association, the world’s largest genetic registry of pedigreed cats. Our club was chartered on September 12, 1994, and is one of several TICA cat clubs in the region. TICA Judge Dewane Barnes was one of our founding members and at that time we were part of the North Central region.

Prairie State Cat Club hosts two cat show each year; a one day show in May and a two day show in October. Both are held in Franklin Park, Illinois.

Club membership is open to all cat lovers. Some of our club members are cat breeders or rescuers, but we do have one thing in common: our appreciation of all cats. No matter what our “favorite” breed, we still find beauty in all felines and love sharing our passion with others.

Our mission is:

To promote the health and welfare of cats;
To promote interest in and encourage the responsible breeding and showing of cats;
To sponsor and support TICA sanctioned cat shows;
To promote interest and knowledge of cats through educational programs;
To promote friendship and social activities among club members.
